Who We Are
Hearts for Hospice is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by a committed group of volunteers. Our purpose is to raise funds:
- for nonprofit hospice and palliative care programs,
- for grief programs for children and adults,
- to educate our community about hospice and end-of-life concerns, and
- to support through scholarships those pursuing a career in the above related fields of study.

Hearts for Hospice is a resale shop and warehouse in Springfield, Oregon.
Resale Shop: 444 Main St. Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 10 am - 4 pm

Cascade Health
Cascade Health is a non-profit organization providing supportive care and hospice services for patients with life-limiting illnesses. In 2017, they opened the beautiful Pete Moore Hospice House in north Eugene, the first dedicated hospice house in our area. Hearts for Hospice is pleased to have furnished the appliances in the family kitchen of the Pete Moore Hospice House, as well as funding grants to purchase medical equipment to serve patients.

Courageous Kids
Hearts for Hospice is a major contributor to the Courageous Kids Program in Lane County, Oregon. We have provided significant funds to both year-round programs and the annual summer camp program for many years. A grief support program for youth and their families, Courageous Kids offers weekly support groups, a summer camp, and a theater troupe for children ages 6-18. Since its inception in 1995, Courageous Kids has served over 3,000 children and their families. Their services are free of charge to participants and the program is supported entirely by grants and donations.

PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Hospice
Hospice Services
PeaceHealth Hospice provides a comfortable and dignified transition toward the end of life for patients with terminal illnesses. Using expert skills, our entire team works with patients and their loved ones to keep them comfortable and supported. Our specially trained care team serves patients wherever they live — in their own homes, assisted and senior living or skilled nursing facilities. Patients may also choose to reside at a PeaceHealth-affiliated hospice house (available in select communities) to receive this care.

Palliative/Home Health Care Services
PeaceHealth Palliative Care provides specialized medical care for people with serious illness. Our care focuses on relieving the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family. Palliative care is provided by a specially trained team that works together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness, and it can be provided along with treatments aimed at curing an illness or condition.

Patient Pet Advocates
Patient Pet Advocates provides pre-planning assistance, education and emergency services for pet owners facing terminal or life-limiting illness. Hearts for Hospice has funded improvements to their foster shelter and electrical and computer systems.

Positive Community Kitchen
Positive Community Kitchen inspires community wellness through healthy food. Teen and adult volunteer chefs and gardeners prepare organic meals for people fighting life-threatening illness.

Santa Clara Church of Christ Quilting Ministry
Volunteer quilters offer handmade scripture quilts to patients of Cascade Health and the Pete Moore Hospice House, and to church members with a cancer diagnosis. As of 2023, this organization has disbanded. For further information call 541-689-2127. NOTE: Crafting Change (see below) is now making quilts for the Pete Moore Hospice House.
White Bird Clinic
White Bird is a collective environment organized to enable people to gain control of their social, emotional and physical well-being through direct service, education and community. The White Bird End of Life Counseling Project assists uninsured clients with end of life counseling services, in addition to supporting community outreach and education, training, and operational expenses for the project. White Bird End of Life Counseling is a compassionate, client-centered service that provides support for psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual issues related to death and dying. Their goal is to help ease people through the process of dying, especially those who could not otherwise receive support or services.

HIV Alliance organizes prevention and care programs to support and protect people living with and at-risk for HIV in our community. They provide comprehensive support to respond to a variety of needs, including end-of-life care, experienced by their clients.
