Betty Gullickson is a founding member of Hearts for Hospice Oregon.  She was recently named the Health and Well-Being Volunteer of the Year by the United Way and Register Guard.

Betty has just received her pin for 30 years of service as a hospice volunteer.  Although she has done everything from volunteer training to office work for Sacred Heart Hospice, her heart is in her work as a patient volunteer. At the Hearts for Hospice resale shop we know Betty as the cheerful manager of our clothing department.  She was one of the small group of hospice volunteers who had the energy, vision and stick-to-it-ness to take our shop from dream to reality.  Thank you Betty for being an inspiration to all of us, showing us so clearly how one individual can have an oversized impact.  Our community is richer for having you a part of it.

Springfield Art Walk 5/8: Artist Scott Copeland

5/1/2015

Please stop into the Hearts for Hospice store on Friday May 8th to see the beautiful artwork of Scott Copeland.
Born and raised in the Eugene/Springfield area, I have been studying and painting Northwest Coast Indian Art since 1990. I started out carving and painting Northwest Coast Indian canoe paddles. Later, I began painting on paper which provided a new spark to my hobby.

I have closely followed the guidelines of N.W. Coast Indian Art derived from the Tlingit and Haida Nations. Using the shapes and colors of red, black and blue-green, it makes my original artworks true to the N.W. Coast Indian tradition.

My artwork has been featured at the Springfield Museum for three different monthlong shows. I`ve also had three shows at Toad Hall Gallery in Yachats OR and currently have art for sale there. I have had 2 art shows at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frame Shop. In November I will have a paddle of mine in an auction at the Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia.
